Cancer is the 2nd Leading Cause of Death… Cancer is the 2nd Leading Cause of Death in the U.S. Our regional population will grow 12% and the incidence of cancer will increase 23% in the next five years according to Oncology Solutions' Report of June 2007. Voting on Cancer Center is this Saturday November 17th Hospital Service District No. 2 Proposition SMH is committed to meeting this growing need in our community by building a Regional State-of-the-Art Cancer Center. The Center will provide citizens with leading edge diagnostics and treatment protocols and a multispecialty approach. The Center will also allow participation in research as SMH affiliates with the National Cancer Institute's "Community Cancer Centers Program."
